Europe 2020: New economic strategy in Europe.
The European Commission has launched today the Europe 2020 Strategy to go out of the crisis and prepare EU economy for the next decade. The Commission identifies three key drivers for growth, to be implemented through concrete actions at EU and national levels: smart growth (fostering knowledge, innovation, education and digital society), sustainable growth (making our production more resource efficient while boosting our competitiveness) and inclusive growth (raising participation in the labour market, the acquisition of skills and the fight against poverty). This battle for growth and jobs requires ownership at top political level and mobilisation from all actors across Europe. More Information

Power is green
In a world that is warming, when pollution has become the most
important problem in our lives, people must be sensible and begin
decreasing CO2 emissions. This is the main reason why Giovanni Ravano
started working and investing in renewable energy. For the
same reason, Ravano Green Power, a major player in the Italian renewable
energy market, has increased its attempts to use natural
sources like wind, sun, water, biogas and biomass to produce 100%
renewable energy. Today Ravano Green Power is still a small player
in the Italian energy market, but its impact on green energy production
is increasing.

More power, less fuel
With the globalisation of the economy, more goods are being transported farther and more frequently across Europe. According to forecasts,
road transport will further grow in the coming years and so will the impact on the environment caused by exhaust emissions. The Swedish
Volvo Truck Corporation based in Gothenburg has been a pioneer in developing stronger and more efficient engines for heavier trucks. Volvo
has also been at the forefront of reducing the environmental impact of its trucks by increasing the fuel efficiency of engines and exploring
new technologies. Today Volvo Truck has succeeded in combing more power with less fuel in heavy-duty trucks which exceed the EU V
standards.
